The City of Stanton operates on a two-year budget cycle. The budget is the City's financial spending plan for the next two fiscal years. The City Council sets goals and priorities for the community and City staff implements the programs as directed by the City Council. The Budget is a Citywide effort and developed by Administrative Services Department and the City Manager.
In addition to developing a sound financial plan the City also prepares the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report which provides an accounting of the financial position of the City at the end of every fiscal year. The City has consistently won the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association which is an achievement for the highest standards in government accounting and financial reporting.
