Council Member Carol Warren Selected as City Mayor

Stanton, Calif. – January 19, 2017 –– On Tuesday, December 13, 2016, the Stanton City Council unanimously elected Council Member Carol Warren to serve as City Mayor for the 2017 calendar year. Council Member David J. Shawver was unanimously selected to serve as Mayor Pro Tem.

The City of Stanton staff and City Council would like to thank outgoing Mayor Brian Donahue for his leadership in 2016. The City congratulates Donahue on a successful term as mayor and looks forward to his continued service as Council Member during the remainder of his four-year term.
Mayor Warren has served on the Stanton City Council since 2008 and has lived in Stanton for 45 years. She is a Stanton business owner and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Long Beach State University. Mayor Warren is supported by her husband of 29 years Mike Warren and son John Warren.

Carol Warren serves on the Boards of the Public Cable Television Authority and the Orange County Sanitation District. In addition, she volunteers for the Stanton Boys and Girls Club.“The City of Stanton is eager to see what the new year will bring under the direction of Mayor Carol Warren,” said City Manager James A. Box.
