City Council Recognizes Volunteers

City Council recognized Stanton volunteers at the City Council meeting held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Over 100 volunteers donated approximately 9,000 volunteer hours in 2017. These dedicated volunteers continue to assist the City with various programs and events and are the key to our success. Thank you, volunteers!

 

The City of Stanton Hosts Job Fair

The City of Stanton hosted a job fair on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the Stanton Community/Civic Center, 7800 Katella Ave. 

From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., more than 100 people attended with over 25 vendors present. The job fair also featured a wall filled with more than 120 job flyers provided by surrounding citites and local businesses.

The City of Stanton and the Stanton Business Alliance hosted the 8th Annual Business Awards Luncheon on Thursday, January 25, 2018.                                      

The luncheon was open to all Stanton businesses, organizations and their employees.  The event drew over 170 members of the Stanton business community including local organizations such as the North Orange County Chamber of Commerce, C3 Technology Services, City Net and Orange County One Stop.  There were also state, county, and federal representatives in attendance.

The City of Stanton is pleased to announce the opening of the pocket park located on the corner of Orangewood Avenue and Beach Boulevard. The park features freestanding, five-foot-high metal letters spelling out “STANTON” as well as three types of grasses, shrubs, and succulents. The park also contains a pathway that connects Beach Boulevard to Stanton Avenue.

 

Holiday Decoration Removal

The City of Stanton would like to remind residents that according to California Building Code, any temporary electrical fixtures on the exterior of your home should be removed within 90 days. As such, all holiday decorative lighting or decorations that require electrical power need to be removed and stored no later than April 1, 2018.

 

District Elections

The City of Stanton is working to comply with the California Voting Rights Act of 2001.  Beginning with the November 2018 elections, Stanton voters will start to elect members of the City Council from geographically defined districts, rather than through a citywide at-large voting process.
